Marketing is all about connecting with customers and converting those connections into leads and then revenues. Marketing has always been an important operation for every business, as without marketing revenues can’t be generated. Earlier traditional marketing was the only way to sell products but now the game has changed.
Marketing is indispensable for business, as it spread information among customers and makes them aware of products and services businesses produce, engages them, and helps them in their buying decisions.
“Business has only two functions — marketing and innovation.” — Milan Kundera, Writer & Playwright
The bottom line is that to make money, marketing is a one-way channel to achieve business goals. Business exists due to marketing.
Marketing is evolving field, which is getting updated every day with new strategies and technologies. In simple terms, traditional marketing hires offline channels for promotion. Generally, there are various types of marketing but majority there are two types of marketing, which will discuss in this blog.
Traditional Marketing refers to the selling of products and services through one-way communication channels, techniques like customers buying products by seeing advertisements in TVs, newspapers, posters, magazines, etc. Traditional marketing is one of the oldest forms of marketing which have its pros and cons.
Digital Marketing means the promotion of products and services through online channels like websites, videos, email marketing, and social channels like Facebook, Twitter, etc., With technological inventions, businesses are nowadays getting inclined to digital communications modes for marketing their products and services.
“Ignoring online marketing is like opening a business but not telling anyone.”- KB Marketing Agency
Digital marketing has become the most powerful tool to win the race. Why, here are some of the numerous benefits of digital marketing:
After understanding the basics of both types of marketing, let’s highlight deeper points of differences.

1 | Conversion Rate | Slow | Quick |
2 | Tracking of Results | Not Possible | Possible |
3 | Understanding Customers | Difficult | Easily can analyze customer’s preference |
4 | Reach | Local | Global |
5 | ROI | Unable to measure | Can be measure |
6 | Results Interpretation | Results can be achieved with a delayed mode | Quickly results started showing |

11 | Time Consuming | More time consuming | Less time is required to reach the maximum number of clients. |
Both traditional marketing and digital marketing have advantages and disadvantages. If I see today’s scenario, full of technology and the internet, digital marketing holds a major place due to its innumerable benefits. It is generally the most cost-effective way of marketing in which you can also determine your target audience by measuring results. Whereas traditional marketing is best to reach a local audience and build loyalty among potential local clients.
Although digital marketing is heading far more in distance in comparison to traditional marketing. But I will say the combination of both types of marketing can help you reach to a new range with a diverse audience and more engaging results.
The end goal of every business is to retain potential customers, generating higher income and profits. And to achieve business goals, the right marketing strategy can change the game.
Both traditional marketing and digital marketing can help any business to reach its audience but ways of communication are different, reach is different, and many more aspects.
Which marketing strategy can be best also depends on business to business. As already stated, that combination of both can do wonders. But before that business should analyze its budget, targeted audience, and purpose.
For example, if the business has a good budget and wants to target a local audience, then traditional marketing is the answer. Whereas if the business purpose is to reach the maximum audience with a lower budget, then digital marketing is the key to success. Even both can also be adopted by looking above mention factors.
